COFFEE AND MOLASSES SMOOTHIE

This smoothie was an absolute game changer for me. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I became pretty obsessed with it.

One morning I just felt like I needed that kick before going to the gym, but I don't like pre-workouts and I wanted something with a bit more nutritional value than a coffee. I had also just started hearing about all the awesome health benefits that blackstrap molasses offers and was keen to try it in a smoothie. And so the coffee + molasses smoothie was born!

As the name would suggest, the main ingredients are molasses and coffee. Every time I make this smoothie I make it differently, but I will nearly always include frozen banana, cacao powder, hemp seeds and chia seeds.

HEALTH BENEFITS.

Molasses: Molasses is high in lots of things such as copper, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and manganese
Coffee: Vitamin B2, B5, manganese, potassium, energy!
Cacao: Iron, magnesium, calcium
Chia: omegas, fibre, iron, calcium
Hemp: Protein, vitamin E, potassium, calcium, iron
Pink salt: Can prevent muscle cramping, increase hydration, strengthen bones and lower blood pressure!

INGREDIENTS.

250ml soy milk
1 frozen banana
1 TBS molasses
1 TBS cacao powder
1 TBS instant coffee (you could also use a coffee pod shot)
1/2 TBS chia seeds
1 TBS hemp seeds
Pinch of pink salt

*I never measure any of these ingredients, I just sort of throw it all in. But these measurements would be pretty close.

METHOD.

This is quite complicated so take it step by step

1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until combined

2. Drink!
